Training for baseball is a long and complicated process. My schedule is an example: Lift three times a week, hit once a week, and fall games three days a week. All aspects of this training are important but in order to improve talent, lifting is vital. When I lift I listen to music that motivates me, like when a song gets to the crescendo or the most intense part of the song. I believe that in order to be able to deal with this schedule, I always have to have the same motivated attitude. There can't be a nuance in me whatsoever, because the goal is to play at a high level of baseball. One of the places I workout at is called Excel. What makes this place so great and convenient is that it is adjoined to a dome so I can lift then take ground balls and throw. Practice, Practice, Practice is obviously so important for baseball players. I am meticulous at everything because just the slightest mechanical problem can lead to many mistakes. Repetition is the basis for everything I do, and that is the deciding factor on whether I do well or not. Another good reason to like this time of year is that I usually get new equipment. I store my old bats in a capacious room next to my garage, and look for new bats and cleats. The winter is the second most important season for baseball because preparation can equal big time success.

So far senior year has been filled with work, baseball, and college searching. Ever since the summer I have been imbued by my performances to strive for more. I am motivated to play college baseball, and to get the best grades possible. At the end of sophomore year I was working in a desultory manner, and I knew I could do much better. I needed a better work ethic and more discipline so I could get my work done. The process is still going as I have been through many setbacks and breakthroughs. It is a labyrinth because the starting point was undisciplined, and the finish line is better discipline, but it will be confusing and tricky along the way. The problem is for classes I am not interested in I tend to get bored very easily. This causes a lack of brio and an increase in lazy work. This year is definitely different as I have gotten off to a great start, but part of the test is to see if I can keep it going through out the year. I am culpable for my lack of studying for some classes, but I am working hard to gain the discipline I need to do well in college and beyond.

Fantasy football is a time where my friends and I create a league and compete to win a lot of money. First we draft real NFL players to fit our roster requirements, and then we set our lineups for the season. Personally, I am big on change because I really want to win the championship. I offer many trades and everyone in the league makes sure all decisions are disinterested. If they are at all biased or for personal gain then the trade is vetoed. Unfortunately, this week I had to play Mike Halperin's team and he has a player named Adrian Peterson who is the best in the league. He is so good that he is becoming a legendary running back and even has the nickname Purple Jesus (his jersey is purple)! I am currently losing my match up, but maybe I can end up winning. Another big thing about fantasy football is keeping the league fair. It is considered a flagrant move to stack a team with all good players just so that one team can dominate the whole league. There are also times in Fantasy Football where decisions are key to victory, but sometimes a manager must make chary decisions because he or she can't risk a loss. Injures often preclude a good team from winning the championship because if that player is a difference maker than it will be tough to make up for that loss.

This weekend my mom and I went down to Rehobeth Beach, Delaware for a baseball tournament. Unfortunately I had to miss the first two games because I took the ACTS. The drive was about four and a half hours long, and most of the driving had to be done in terrible storms. The town of Lewes, Delaware was enigmatic and kind of creepy. Most of the town had a large highway running through it, but one part of it was so spaced out. It was like two opposite towns in one! When I got to the hotel my teammates caught me up on what happened the day I missed. We tied our first game 1 to 1 and won our second game 11-0. The next day we were scheduled to play in the playoffs against the number 6 seed. By the second inning we were winning by fifteen runs and the other team praised us in an omnipotent manner. Our next challenge was against the number two seed, and they were a very talented team. The scouting report on their pitcher was that he didn't have a disciplined demeanor. In other words he was easily rattled and his attitude was poor. His fastball was sizzling into the catchers glove at 88 mph. Our team never game up and we started hitting the ball hard and far. The pitcher started to use bombast words because his teammates made some coslty errors, and we capitalized. Our team ended up winning 4-0 and we were on to the final game. Great pitching led our team to victory as we defeated the number one seed 2-0. Overall our team scored 18 runs and gave up none because the first one was unearned! In my opinion our team's overall performance is going to be near impossible to emulate. It was a great experience and I had a great time!
