Vocab #2

Last week I was listening to the radio, only to hear my favorite song, but I forgot they get censored. So as it was playing I'd sing along and then it would only be me singing as they bleeped out the curse words. As I was driving I accidently drove past a bus that had its lights on. A cop pulled me over and told me what I had done. I told him it was my first time ever getting pulled over, and it was a stupid mistake. I think he felt bad for me and decided to waive the potential charges. From that point on I abrogated my careless driving, and now every time I step into the car, I am extremely alert, always paying attention. This will allow me to stay safe obviously, but ticket free too. For New Years I went to Atlanta, and it was the first time I flew by myself. My mom said if I had any questions, to ask! If I was at all confused I needed to ask someone about my gate. So when I went to the airport I was aware of the heirarchy that worked for Delta, and if there were specific questions when I got to Atlanta, I knew who to ask. Fortunately I didn't have any problems and I really had a great time there. Atlanta is a very nice city, but just as all cities have there were some homeless people in tawdry clothing. Me and my friends went to the Varsity which is a famous fastfood place and also saw a great NBA basketball game.

Vocab #1

The last couple of weeks have been very interesting. I workout at Leverage training center with some of my club baseball teammates and while I was working, my trainer, Rich, tells me Chien Ming Wang is coming to workout one of these Sundays. I was like are you lying? Why would he come? I was trying to elicit the truth, but he wouldn't succumb to our so called prosecutions. Unfortunately I could not go and meet him, but my friends Artie and Alex got to, and they said "he was mad chill". On the way home from that workout, I totally forgot to pick up Mike Greengarten, so I drove home as fast as the speed limit allowed me, and I picked him up at his house. The tires were transpiring a burning aroma, because of the fact that I drove fast to be on time. It was a good thing I was on time, and we ended up getting some Chinese food and ate it at his house.

John Wooden part two

The next section in this book introduces us to his future wife, Nellie. At the same time we see John create the pyramid for success. It is something that all of his players experienced and it truly amazing to see. As we get into his experiences of coaching UCLA, I really felt how tough it was for him to settle into California. His coaching experiences include turning around a program and making them into one of the most dominant teams in sports history. They won 12 straight titles and had many to be nba hall of famers. I really enjoyed reading about John Wooden's story, and I was extremely impressed with how he went about his family and business.

My Personal Best

This book is about John Wooden's life, and how he matures into the great person that he is today. The book starts with Wooden talking about his childhood, on a farm in Indiana. About 90 years later, he can still remember the rules for living his father Joshua Wooden set for him. For example, one of the rules he said was "Make Friendship a fine art"(Wooden 18). What an important rule that is for everyone, because you can always count on a close friend. In the next section, Wooden recalls the rest of his role models and then moves into his experiences playing basketball. Little does he know, that he will become the most famous and respected part of basketball ever, but from the sideline.
